ONE GOAL: Breakthrough Breast Cancer is delighted to be joining with Scottish Women's Football. We have One Goal - freedom from the fear of breast cancer.
The partnership is important because breast cancer is the most common cancer among Scottish women. Every year nearly 4,500 women are diagnosed. And around 1,000 die from the disease annually. 1 in 9 women in Scotland will develop breast cancer at some point in their lifetime.
We are calling the partnership ‘One Goal’ and it aims to inform the thousands of women involved with SWF about the importance of breast awareness because the earlier a cancer is detected the better the outcome. We also want to increase the knowledge of lifestyle risk factors that women can influence. One way to reduce your risk is through exercise, football being a great example, so that is why this partnership is so important.
